DIAMOND GUIDE BY BUDGET
As
have recommended, knowing your budget is of paramount importance when diamond shopping. With the assumption that you will be searching for a quality stone, the budget will dictate most everything except for shape. You may choose any shape, but the size will be directly tied to the budget, and accordingly, so will the color and clarity.
looks to simplify your process with a grid that will allow you to immediately understand what your budget will allow you to purchase in a quality stone IN REAL TIME. When we refer to a “quality stone” our reference is a top-tier grading laboratory such as GIA or AGS-certified diamond. A diamond that receives Excellent in categories of Cut Grade, Polish, and Symmetry for GIA round brilliant cut diamonds and a MINIMUM of Very Good in both Polish and Symmetry for fancy shaped diamonds(any diamond other than a round stone). For AGS, our “quality stone” reference is an AGS O for round brilliant cut diamonds and a MINIMUM of Very Good for both Polish and Symmetry for fancy shaped diamonds. The MAXIMUM Fluorescence acceptable in these assumptions will be MEDIUM BLUE for all colors G and below. The MAXIMUM Fluorescence acceptable for D E or F color diamonds will be FAINT BLUE.
Keep in mind that ONE drop or increase in color will either reduce or increase your cost ROUGHLY by +- 15%. The same holds true when dropping or increasing the clarity of a diamond(all things being equal), the price will reduce or increase ROUGHLY by +- 15%.
