AI Diamond Analysis: See What Your Certificate Doesn’t Tell You

A GIA grading report tells you a diamond's stats. Our AI shows you what those stats are hiding. We analyze actual diamond images using computer vision — not just the certificate data — to detect:

Light leakage and dead zones caused by cut proportions outside ideal ranges
High-risk inclusions: cavities, laser drill holes, knots, and etched channels that certificates minimize
Off-center tables and symmetry issues that reduce brilliance even in GIA Excellent grades
Depth percentages that bury carat weight in the base — making the stone look smaller than it should

A certificate grade alone never catches these things. Our tool does — before you spend a dollar.

The 4Cs of Diamonds Explained: What Actually Matters When You Buy

Most people walk into diamond shopping knowing the 4Cs exist — Cut, Color, Clarity, and Carat — but not knowing which ones to prioritize for their budget. Here’s what the diamond industry doesn’t tell you: two diamonds with identical grades can look completely different in real life. Understanding these four factors is the difference between getting a beautiful diamond and overpaying for one that looks dull on the finger.

Frequently Asked Questions

Natural diamonds formed billions of years ago deep in the earth's mantle under extreme heat and pressure. Lab grown diamonds are created in a laboratory using the same carbon composition — they are chemically, optically, and physically identical to natural stones. The key difference is origin and resale value. Lab grown diamonds currently cost 60–80% less than natural diamonds of comparable quality, but they carry little to no resale value. Natural diamonds have a long track record of holding value over time. Both are beautiful stones — the right choice depends on your priorities. Our team can walk you through which makes more sense for your situation.
Yes — with the right guidance. The major reputable retailers (Brilliant Earth, Blue Nile, Whiteflash) offer GIA-certified stones, 360-degree video, and solid return policies. The risk isn't the retailer — it's buying the wrong stone because you don't know what to look for. That's exactly where we help. We review the actual diamond before you commit so you don't end up with a return situation.
You reach out by email or book a short video call. We ask about your budget, her style preferences, and what you're already considering. We then analyze your shortlist, flag any concerns, and find better options if needed. The process typically takes 24–48 hours. There's no obligation to buy anything — we get a small commission only if you purchase a diamond we recommend through one of our partner retailers.
Cut first. Always. Cut controls sparkle, and a poorly cut diamond looks dull regardless of its other grades. Once cut is locked in, we evaluate clarity (VS1–SI1 is the sweet spot for most budgets), then color (G–H faces up white in most settings and saves money versus D–F). Carat weight is the last priority — optimizing the first three C's usually results in a larger-looking stone anyway.
Compare the same spec across multiple retailers — the same diamond can vary by thousands depending on where it's listed. Understand that GIA 'Excellent' is a range, not a guarantee of performance. Don't shop on carat weight alone. Check the key-to-symbols section on the certificate for high-risk inclusions. And get a second opinion before you buy. That second opinion is exactly what we offer — for free.
Spend what you're comfortable spending — not what a De Beers advertising campaign invented in the 1930s told you to spend. The 'three months salary' rule was created by the diamond industry to sell more diamonds. A beautiful stone can be found at almost any budget when you know what to prioritize. We've helped clients find stunning diamonds for $3,000 and for $30,000. What matters is how it looks, not what it cost.
Round brilliant is the most popular engagement ring shape for good reason — it's engineered to reflect the maximum amount of light, produces the most fire and sparkle, and never goes out of style. Oval is the second most popular, offering a larger face-up size per carat than round. Cushion and pear shapes are trending upward. Ultimately the best shape is the one she wants to wear every day — but shape significantly impacts both appearance and price. We can help you navigate the tradeoffs.
GIA (Gemological Institute of America) is the most respected independent diamond grading laboratory in the world. A GIA certificate provides a third-party assessment of a diamond's cut, color, clarity, and carat weight — along with a plot diagram of all inclusions. For any natural diamond over 0.50ct, you should only buy with a GIA certificate. It's your protection against misrepresentation and overpaying. We do not recommend purchasing natural diamonds graded by lesser-known labs.
Compare it against similar stones across multiple retailers at the same specifications. Look at the actual diamond video and images — not just the certificate. Check the depth percentage, table percentage, and key-to-symbols section on the GIA report for high-risk inclusions. If any of this feels overwhelming, send us the diamond link. We'll tell you in plain language whether it's worth the price — and if not, we'll find you one that is.
