Josh makes the buying decision easier to understand

Josh Allen is a cofounder of Your Diamond Guys and a fifth generation diamantaire with 25 years of experience in the global diamond trade. His work centers on buyer strategy, budgets, online shopping, engagement rings, and retailer comparisons.

Josh helps you connect the diamond details to the purchase you actually want to make. The aim is a sensible decision about the stone, the setting, the seller, and the total cost.

Trade experience, explained in buyer language

Josh's background includes sourcing in Mumbai, Tel Aviv, and Antwerp, and supplying diamonds to Tiffany & Co., Cartier, and Harry Winston. Those are past supply relationships, not current endorsements of Your Diamond Guys.

One trade lesson carries straight into a buyer conversation: a more expensive specification is not automatically a better use of money. A color or clarity upgrade needs to matter in the actual stone and setting before it deserves more of your budget.

Josh brings that perspective to the questions buyers ask before they commit. Rob Cornfield adds the deeper cut, sourcing, proportion, and inclusion review.

What Josh helps you work through

DecisionWhat the conversation should settle
BudgetHow much is available for the diamond, setting, and other purchase costs?
Natural or lab grownWhich choice fits your priorities and expectations?
Size and shapeWhat appearance do you want, and what do the measurements show?
Color and clarityWhich differences matter in your preferred shape and setting?
Retailer choiceWhat evidence, service, and purchase terms support the offer?
Final candidatesWhich questions remain before one diamond deserves the decision?

You do not need every answer before getting in touch. A budget, a preferred look, and a few honest questions are a useful start.

Look at the complete offer

A loose diamond price is only one part of the purchase. Setting costs, return conditions, resizing, shipping, and payment terms can change the comparison.

Josh's retail markup guide explains why a seller's price needs context. His price per carat calculator guide shows what the arithmetic helps you compare and what it cannot prove about the diamond.

For a natural diamond, start with GIA. Then compare the actual stone, visual evidence, and complete offer. A retailer name or a referral link does not answer those questions by itself.

A practical way to discuss the tradeoffs

Suppose you have a fixed budget and two candidates. One has a higher color grade. The other has more convincing cut evidence and a face up appearance you prefer.

The useful question is whether you can see the color difference in the shape and setting you want. If you cannot, that higher grade needs a better reason to take more of the budget. You still need to check each stone's report, images, and terms before choosing.

That is an illustrative buying conversation, not a customer result or a promise of savings. Your actual candidates decide the answer.
