We do not add up a few scores and call the higher total the winner. Each area needs evidence. A serious problem or a missing piece can outweigh a good grade elsewhere.

The price check
Diamond B costs USD 300 less in this invented example. That is 3.33% of Diamond A’s USD 9,000 price, before any other costs.
The evidence check
B sits inside our natural round starting ranges. A falls outside them. That gives us a reason to investigate B first, not proof that B looks better.
Provisional direction
Investigate B first. Do not approve either yet.
Get the actual visual evidence, check the reports and inclusion details, and compare seller terms. The example shows how we narrow a decision without pretending the missing evidence is already there.
Carat weight can sit where you won’t see it.
A deeper stone can carry extra weight underneath while showing no more width from above. Compare the actual dimensions before paying for a milestone weight.
Different shapes?
Use the right comparison.
Round proportion preferences do not transfer to an oval or emerald cut. Fancy shapes need their own checks for outline, facet pattern, bow tie, windowing and brightness.
If you are comparing natural with lab grown, say so. We’ll separate origin and price expectations before comparing the appearance and fit.
What you get back
A reasoned preference when the evidence supports one, the tradeoffs that matter and any questions still blocking a confident choice.
A tie or “need more evidence” is a valid outcome. You do not need a forced winner.
