The buyer verdict
Put Whiteflash on the shortlist if you want a natural round with documented optical evidence and are willing to compare that package with other sellers. Its A CUT ABOVE offering centers on precision cut diamonds and additional testing.
You care about a balanced light pattern, want images beyond a rotating video, and prefer a seller that explains its cut criteria.
You prioritize a fancy shape, the largest possible stone for the budget, or an upgrade plan that the current Whiteflash terms do not suit.
This review checks published product and policy information. We have not bought a stone, timed customer support, or conducted a secret shopper test for this update. The 4.58 grade above comes from our earlier review. We have not assigned a new score for this update.

Shop the actual inventory
Start with Whiteflash’s stocked diamonds when cut evidence is your priority. Its in-house listings offer light performance images and video. You can also ask a consultant to inspect the stone in hand. That is useful access when two reports look almost identical.
Look for the inventory status on the listing. Ask for photos of your two finalists side by side under the same lighting. Whiteflash says its branded diamonds are available for special photo requests. Use that service.
Other listings expand the choice of shapes and sizes. Whiteflash brings these diamonds in for inspection before shipping. Confirm availability, the inspection timeline, and which images show the actual stone. A stock photo tells you nothing about its inclusions or light pattern.

For extra analysis or a showroom viewing of a non-branded diamond before purchase, Whiteflash’s FAQ describes a refundable deposit of 10 percent, with a $1,000 minimum. Get the refund conditions and timing in writing.
What supports the brand claim
Whiteflash’s current A CUT ABOVE page describes GIA Triple Excellent natural diamonds, supplementary light performance assessment, optical symmetry images, and video. Those are retailer claims to check against the specific listing.
Start with the actual GIA report. Match the number, measurements, comments, and finish to the stone you are considering.
Ask for the actual Hearts and Arrows, ASET, or Ideal Scope images where offered. Understand the capture setup and what each image is meant to show.
Compare moving video under more than spotlighting. Ask about eye clean appearance, tint, transparency, and any unresolved feature.
Start with GIA. Our shortlist uses a table of 56 to 58 percent, depth of 60 to 62.4 percent, crown angle of 34 to 35 degrees, pavilion angle of 40.6 to 41 degrees, Excellent polish and symmetry, and none to faint fluorescence. These are YDG screening ranges, not Whiteflash’s A CUT ABOVE specifications. The angles must work together. Check the actual images before deciding.
Look at the three cut examples below. GIA’s original photograph compares Excellent on the left, Good in the middle, and Poor on the right. The brighter look is why cut belongs at the front of your Whiteflash comparison.

The AGS Ideal addendum mentioned by Whiteflash is supplementary cut evidence issued through GIA. It does not replace the GIA natural diamond grading report. Neither a branded label nor an attractive generated image substitutes for the actual stone’s evidence.
An ASET map shows where a diamond gathers light and where contrast or leakage appears. GIA’s example below helps you read the colors. For your purchase, ask Whiteflash for the evidence tied to your exact diamond.

The AGS Ideal Report supplements the GIA grading report. GIA offers the ASET map as an option, so confirm whether the actual report includes it.
Understand what triple Excellent does and does not tell you.
What are you paying extra for?
Match natural origin, shape, carat weight, millimeter dimensions, color, clarity, fluorescence, and actual cut evidence. Then compare asking prices and purchase terms on the same day.
GIA report, spread, clarity features, and visible appearance.
Actual optical images, video conditions, and inspection access.
Return period, setting exclusions, shipping, and upgrade rules.
A branded premium can make sense when you value tighter selection and a better documented review. It is not automatically worth paying if a less expensive candidate supplies equally convincing evidence and better fits your priorities.
Whiteflash advertises a 3 percent wire payment adjustment. Confirm the final invoice and bank fees before counting the savings. Compare the same payment method across sellers.
Check payment incentivesWhiteflash offers Affirm financing, subject to approval. Compare the APR and total amount owed with the cash price. A comfortable monthly payment does not tell you what the ring costs.
Read the financing terms| Policy | What the specific policy page currently says | What to confirm before payment |
|---|---|---|
| Returns for branded natural diamonds | 30 days for the named A CUT ABOVE and Expert Selection natural categories and eligible regular catalogue items. | Confirm your exact item category and any setting or custom exclusions. |
| Other diamonds, including lab grown | 10 days under the money back policy for other certified diamonds and eligible related items. | Do not assume the natural branded window applies to a lab grown or other diamond. |
| The return clock | It begins when the item is available under the delivery or pickup terms. It does not pause or reset. | Arrange inspection before the deadline; request authorization and postmark in time. |
| A CUT ABOVE trade up | A replacement single A CUT ABOVE diamond must have at least 50 percent greater value. | The policy allows credit adjustment to current market value and excludes original shipping and applied discounts. |
| Upgrade eligibility and costs | The current trade up page excludes Expert Selection, Other Diamonds, lab created, and other sourced categories. | Original undamaged condition and original report are required. Return shipping, insurance, and setting work can add costs. |
| Custom work and trade-up refunds | Specified custom and modified items have return exclusions; diamonds acquired through trade up do not qualify for money back. | Get written terms for your complete diamond and setting order. |
Sources: money back guarantee and lifetime trade up. The general FAQ uses broader wording in places. We use the specific policy pages here and recommend written confirmation for your order.
Upgrade credit is a conditional store benefit. It is not a cash resale guarantee, and it does not guarantee protection from a falling market.
Budget for the whole ring
Whiteflash carries designer settings including Tacori, Simon G., Verragio, A. Jaffe, Ritani, and Vatche, alongside its own designs. Many catalogue prices exclude the center diamond. Check the setting listing for the metal, compatible diamond dimensions, sizing range, and production time.
New purchases include insured FedEx shipping to supported destinations. Standard domestic delivery uses a staffed FedEx pickup location with photo ID and signature. International buyers pay applicable import taxes and duties. Confirm the destination and delivery date before planning your proposal.
Read the shipping policyMost rings qualify for one complimentary sizing within a year of purchase. Some designs have limits or extra fees. You pay shipping and insurance both ways. The one year service plan covers specified wear and manufacturing repairs, but excludes damage or loss to the certified center diamond.
Check sizing and service coverageBefore you place the order
Save the listing and GIA report number for each finalist. Ask which videos, optical images, and inspection checks belong to each exact stone. Request a comparison under the same lighting.
Whiteflash’s eye clean baseline uses a face-up view from about 10 inches, normal overhead lighting, and 20/20 vision. If closer viewing or side visibility matters to you, ask for that check too. Ask whether any inclusion or surface feature needs closer inspection. Name a bruise, chip, cavity, knot, etched channel, or indented natural if it appears.
Request the return category, deadline, costs, and upgrade eligibility in writing. Include the setting, not just the loose stone.
Send two actual listings and the published terms for a comparison. A retailer’s strongest brand category should not stand in for every diamond it offers.
Straight answers
No. Check the exact category on the listing. The cut evidence and policy benefits described for A CUT ABOVE do not automatically apply to other inventory.
Its current A CUT ABOVE trade up page requires a replacement of at least 50 percent greater value. Read the credit adjustment and cost clauses too. Confirm the written terms for your order.
No. The specific policy gives 30 days to named branded natural categories and eligible catalogue items, and 10 days to other certified diamonds, including lab grown. Custom exclusions can change the answer.
Compare the exact stone and the evidence first. Pay more when the documented cut and the purchase terms add something you value. The brand name alone cannot make that decision.
